New member about to purchase first Reliant

Post by Cuthy246 » Thu Mar 07, 2019 12:42 pm

Hi All,

Have wanted a scimitar for some time now and it has finally happened, this Saturday I should be taking possession of an SE6a. :D
Will be starting a project thread in the coming weeks to document the restoration/recommissioning of this car. Expect many questions and lots of photos.
A full introduction to the car will be given when I get hold of it and get some of its history from the previous owner.

Thanks and Hello
Cuthy246

And a big Congrats & Welcome from another newbie.
I'm only two months into Scimitar ownership, and thoroughly enjoying it...

Hi and welcome.

I started in November last year, will be interesting what issues you encounter.

I have a solid car with quite a few engine/ suspension/ bodywork and interior restoration problems to address and have found the forum a great help.

Regards
Sarecen

Hi and welcome. as a 6a custodian for 22 years and maybe soon due to health issues a “retiree” you’ll find .endless support and help here. They’re not complicated but demand some investment, compare a Stag “value” to our cars and you may gain an inkling

Great to see another in the area. If you are interested the Historic Wheels show at Brodie in August usually gets a few of us owners together. We had five Scimitars there last year. Enjoy! :D

Well after a long day it is back at its new home. Bit about the car. 1978 SE6a, 50k miles, 4 previous owners with the PO I purchased from owning it from 1982! Pretty good nick, chassis has surface rust but no big chucks missing, had a stainless exhaust and tank at some point. Full body off restoration in the works. Now the bit you have all been waiting for.

Good to see yet another Scimitar in the area, like the colour scheme too.

I'm down in Fort William and keep meaning to join the historic wheels event Will mentions, maybe this year.

Looks like it has been off the road for some time. If you get a minute can you send a photo, the registration, engine number and VIN to the SE6 Registrar please. SE6.registrar@rssoc.co.uk;
