Seems like a common story - Scimitar owner from years back decides it's time to get back in the fold. My introduction to Scimitars was the early 80's when my brother rolled up in a glorious red SE5. Loved it. Couple of years later my other brother got a red 5A. Fab! So I had no option but to get one.

Got my 1975 brown 5A in 1994 and was our daily driver for the next 6 years. Then, as a 40th birthday present to myself, got a 1968 coupe. It had been a long term restoration project that, at the time, just needed finishing. (Did I say 'just'?) Sold it on a couple of years later.

So here I am in 2018 with a silver SS1 1800ti. Been fancying an SS1 for a while, but only recently decided to go for it. I had fancied a SE6A, but decided I'd spent enough time working on Essex's and wanted a change. Re-joined the club, got the manual and parts book - ready to go! Pity the car's got other ideas, but that's for another thread.

Although I'd been without a Scimitar for about 8 years, I'd never really strayed from the forum. I've been lurking on the sidelines, posting very infrequently, but just enjoying the conversations. Although I've toyed with going for a different classic (Lotus Elite (70's one), Bond Equipe) I couldn't imagine there being such an active forum for these other classics. (There probably are other active forums - I've just not gone looking for them.) The existence and responsiveness of this forum makes buying and keeping a Scimitar a far more positive proposition.
