Hello from Hamburg
Hello to everyone,
I'm 32 years old, living in Hamburg - Germany and I own a Scimitar Sabre since 2015, which is 23 years old.
It was my fathers car and these cars played a special role in my whole life, because of him. My father
was a car mechanic and he knew these cars inside out. He has fixed these cars, sold them and he had many customers around Hamburg.
We always owned different types of the Scimitar and I love these cars like my father did.
After he suddenly died two years ago, I could keep his last Scimitar Sabre and it's garaged, but I feel helpless because the side window on the right is broken and
I don't know where to fix it, or who can help me now. I just want to take this car back to the road.
So if there's anybody out there, who has an idea, or who can help I would be very happy.
I wish a nice christmas time to all of you!
(Please apologize any grammatical errors - Thanks.)

Hello from Hamburg
Welcome!
Is the glass broken or will it not raise and lower? If glass broken a replacement should be easy to supply from someone on here, I may even have a spare depending on the colour shade of the tinting of the glass.
If it wont raise and lower, may well be electrical and relatively easy to check with a multimeter. If you remove the door card and unplug the window winder motor, and connect multimeter to see if you have power to the plug when the window switches are depressed. Of you don't have power, check fuses. If you do, it may be the window motor thatsba fault and a replacement can be sourced from this forum.
Good luck

Hello from Hamburg
Hi,
thanks for your quick answer!
How to explain ...
There are 2 windows on each side and the small one in form of a triangle is totally broken, even the glass. My father told me in the past, that
somebody has tried to steal the car. My father has fixed the other damages, before he was gone. I remember he told me, that the frame of the small window is broken too.
The other big side window behind the small one seems to be okay, but I have never tested if it really works, but thanks a lot for the advice.
I think the rest of the car is in good repair, or at least it looks fine.
Thanks for help

Hello from Hamburg
Ah - that’s known as the quarterlight. I’m sure someone has one that can be sent over to you?
Welcome by the way! Does the club registrar have your details?

Hello from Hamburg
Welcome
I have several spare quarterlights- PM me.
I have some parts to repair the frames but you will need to find someone who can weld as new ones aren’t yet available.

Hello from Hamburg
At the top of this page, click on Home. Then look for Club Contacts. That should give you a list of all the club officers, including the registrars for all the different models. The SSS1/Sabre registrar is Mike Littleton, known as Mikelima 48 on the forum page. He would like the VIN and the registration number of your car, to keep his records up todate. Welcome

Hello from Hamburg
Hi StephGER, do you remember that Scimitar meeting in Lüneburg, your dad volunteered Martin Bracker to get this event rolling (must be around 1990-2 if I remember right and you were a young boy at that time)? Lupus, my red SS1, broke down close to the "Timmendorfer Strand" and your father towed me back to his workshop with just a rope. It was night, the big Mercedes in front of me, the big red lights just a few meters away, seeing nothing except the tail of that big car and your dad was speeding home over country lanes. Blank horror in my memory
. Next morning we found that bloody flying fuse behind the dashboard that stopped the fuel pump.
Sad to hear he is gone, but good to hear that one of his family indicates interest on an important part of his dad's working life. A late welcome to you.
