Sadly the motor trade consists of people who seem to know very little of what they are dealing with...and this applies to modern cars as much as old ones!
Really..... Sweeping comment ?
Not sure why you have a problem with this.
Would you say you know more about Scimitars than this Auction house?
I would hope so.
Regarding normal modern car purchases I have had about 80 cars in my lifetime and I tend to read and research every one before I buy it,and in the time before the internet I would buy all the magazines to do this.
So when I actually got to talk to car dealers I generally found I knew more about the car than them,in many cases it was evident the salesman had only been a few weeks in the job.
Not always,of course.I would expect Graham Walker to know more about Scimitars than me just as Paul Matty knows more about Lotus cars than me,but your average car salesman knows more about salesmanship than the car itself.
Knowing quite a lot about salesmanship is probably quite handy if your job (and probably entire career ahead of you...) is about sales  I think we can all appreciate that no-one knows it all and we can all learn something new from others. While a buyer may know a great deal about a car he hopes to buy, a salesman has to know quite a lot about hundreds, perhaps thousands, of individual cars he may be called upon to promote throughout his career. We each have our own experience and expertise, and I think it is well to respect that. It would be a boring world if every one of us knew all there was to know about all cars - it'd be like living on Clarkson Island ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMuO-8S_0Wg

is it such a bad advert for a coupe?....... 31 posts on here already discussing it and in doing so increasing the audience for the advert and bringing it to the attention of more potential buyers...... every advertiser no matter what they are promoting wants as many people to see their advert and talk about it as possible.... and there are countless ways of doing that... poor spelling and grammar being one of them.

Can anyone explain please as i'm now confused , i see endless discussions on here and facebook concerning the perceived low asking price and value.Theres no end of wailing and gnashing of teeth ( or dentures ) over this , yet whenever one comes up for sale at a high price theres then more discussion picking holes in it and said high price. Apologies in advance for grammer/spelling errors 😀

I think the only post that questioned the value was the first one? - most are questioning the lack of a basic spellchecker or proof reading.

As Geraint says, any publicity is good publicity :D

Personally, I don't think it's over priced. I don't think it's even top money. Look at the flat grey one that sold for £20k a few months ago, this is better than half as good as that one.

Well, Mister Chairman, as that was my post I can't let that preposterous suggestion go unchallenged. I think, Jim, you perhaps mis-interpreted my heading - when I put two exclamation marks, I intended to signify that this was an exceptionally *low* price and obviously a previously overlooked Black Friday bargain ... :W

like I said....Sweeping comment. which from your own experience & knowledge is not correct.

I know I'm very new to the forum, but let's be nice. That coupe looks great and will sell. What we'd all like to know is for how much!

*JP* and 1969SE5, play nicely please?

Personal attacks are not welcome on this forum. Making comments about the advert - fine. Having a go at each other - not fine. Having a go at dyslexia - not fine. It’s all in the forum rules and guidelines, linked at the top of every forum section.

Any complaints? Contact the Moderation team but leave it off this thread from now on otherwise we may have to take further action.

Thank you.

I've just watched the bidding online and it sold to the room for £12,500. Quite a surprise really as not much is selling

The Auction house will take a large amount of commission from the buyer AND the seller, so the 12K guide price will be irrelevant.

I always try steer clear of this type of auction because of this reason, look at the JLR auction of the Furguson 4X4
