That's more like it.

I see it still has the one leading, one trailing arm with no Watts linkage which makes it a very early Coupe - one of the first 59 S6 cars according to TSAIF.

I also note the reference to it having a Mays Head has been removed - that was an odd thing to claim in the original ad if it wasn't true. Suggests the seller doesn't know either way. Were triple SUs an option? I thought they were standard on Coupes, unlike the Sabre Six which came with a Zenith.

I'm sympathetic to disabilities, believe me.

But this seller is asking top money for the car and I hope he achieves it, so if this is the case then why not ask someone to cast their eyes over the ad first? A poorly written ad just puts buyers off and knocks ££ of the selling price imho - I think that's inescapable.

Who says it's "poorly written" ? *You* may regard it so, because you do not suffer from dyslexia. But to the seller, I am sure this advert as written seems perfectly acceptable. After all, if I wanted to sell a car, why on earth would I *deliberately* write a poor advert? Surely I'd write the best one of which I was capable? Then, having written what I believed to be the best I could do, why would I ask someone else to check it for me? Do *you* ask anyone to check anything *you* have written? Many people (and yes, I *do* know some) who suffer from such conditions are either unaware of it or in complete denial. I know two siblings who both have this type of condition (sadly, among several others) and each is exasperated by the other's behaviour whilst (very aggressively!) refusing to acknowledge his own situation. But we digress - let's get back to the car...

Well i for one won't buy anybodys car when there's more then three spelling mistakes in the ad as clearly thats the most important thing , so count me out

Bad grammar is a wonderful thing.

'One lady owner car, absolutely no rust, any test welcome, trade ins willingly accepted, 3 months guarantee'. Oops, did I really write that? Poor English I'm afraid, what I should have written was 'One greedy owner car, absolutely no dust, no test drives, no haggling, if you want a warranty you can buy one from an insurance company but they are not worth the paper they are printed on'.

Mind you, having pilloried some of the writing for that coupe it does look absolutely wonderful and whoever buys it will probably be absolutely delighted with it.

Its mad to think that reference in the add to the car having a Mays Head has been removed so quickly, Barons are watching. Its all a bit 1984.

Then perhaps they should change the bit where triple SUs are stated as an option where in fact they were standard.

Sadly the motor trade consists of people who seem to know very little of what they are dealing with...and this applies to modern cars as much as old ones!

I have seen SU's on a Mays head (as opposed to the Webers normally found), but the angle is wrong, so I also would say it is a standard factory setup. If you could see the exhaust manifolds, that could make a difference.

Also, if it had a May's head, you'd also like to have a ZF box

Those bits of the chassis only hold the nose on

At least one can hope they are showing (all) the bad with the good.
Even with a bit of rust I reckon the price is reasonable.
Come to think of it I know someone who is looking for a straight six, and he's not afraid of welding ...

Not sure why you have a problem with this.
Would you say you know more about Scimitars than this Auction house?
I would hope so.
Regarding normal modern car purchases I have had about 80 cars in my lifetime and I tend to read and research every one before I buy it,and in the time before the internet I would buy all the magazines to do this.
So when I actually got to talk to car dealers I generally found I knew more about the car than them,in many cases it was evident the salesman had only been a few weeks in the job.
Not always,of course.I would expect Graham Walker to know more about Scimitars than me just as Paul Matty knows more about Lotus cars than me,but your average car salesman knows more about salesmanship than the car itself.
