Scimitar for Sale

Post by Iain » Sat Nov 17, 2018 2:20 pm

Afternoon,

I have a '74 GTE for Sale, currently none working.

The Car was fully, and lovingly, restored by the previous owner (before he passed away) and had sat for 18-24 months before I got it. This was to be an easy first restoration for my son and I; but two years later we have done very little to it and it has now, sadly, fallen beyond my ability to restore.

It needs a good home.

I did list the vehicle this summer on other classic car sites but the only interest was from US American Muscle car fans who wanted to turn it into a US repro. Hence the re-listing on this site only.

I genuinely do not have any idea of the value in its current state but have looked around a bit. I also have spares to go along with it.

Please get in touch if you want to chat it over.

Thanks

Iain

I would suggest more pictures, including interior and under the bonnet, and details of what was restored as far as you know together with what you believe are the weaknesses now that need sorting.
That should then encourage some genuine enquiries and avoid time being wasted.

Thanks for the suggestion JP.

The light is fading here already but I will get some more photos taken tomorrow and get them up on the site.

As for restoration details the previous owner kept everything; receipts of every piece, all the servicing and restoration works.

Scimitar for Sale

Morning,

Here are some more pictures of the Scimitar. Im not sure of the site has an upload limit so I will post a few on separate posts.

Please forgive the low winter sun combined with my the camera on my phone - it has made some of the pictures a little more orange than they should have been.

Here are the Exterior Pictures

Thanks

What price are you looking for? What state is the chassis in after being sat on grass for two years?

Evening,

Im not a mechanic. What do you need to know about the Chassis? Are there areas I can photograph for you.

I will get the chassis number tomorrow when its light.

As for price: I have already said I simply don't know what it is worth.

Thanks

Iain

After at least two years sat around I suspect the chassis will need work, the interior is shot (dash top, door cards, carpets, dash front, seats, steering wheel, probably headlining too), paintwork is poor, engine looks like its going to be scrap, clutch will be stuck. And so on. I would not be happy to pay more than £200 as spares in its current state. Then I've got transportation costs on top.
Sorry to be so negative but in truth that's all its worth unless you strike very lucky.
