SE5a Radiator

Post by 1949bug » Fri Nov 24, 2017 11:50 am

Need a Radiator for my se5a.

Must be nice condition.

Ideally like to keep the car stock but would consider similar aftermarket item.

Based north Essex/Suffolk boarder

Thanks

I've got one in almost perfect condition, but must have been from an early SE5 with only a manual crank driven fan as there's no provision for the Otter switch (maybe a blessing in disguise!) so would need either a Kenlowe-style bulb, or an M22 sender soldering in.

What sort of price would you be looking at?

Really gutted there was a nice 5a one on eBay last week but I missed it by a day.

Hi Thanks for the offer but I’m really after a ‘plug and play’ item from a 5a.
It may be that I go new aftermarket if I can find the correct layout and dimensions

Having removed the incumbent item it's not in good shape and as I've sort of accidentally bought some alloy rocker covers the alloy rad will have to wait now and I'll be fitting my spare 5a rad I'm afraid, sorry

TBH the alloy rads from Graham Walkers are not much more than a recore would be, I'd be looking at that if you can't get a known good condition radiator, better that than a hard shoulder wait for big yellow / orange / green taxi

Cars not been on the road since 1989! My Radiator doesn’t exist currently.
Just rebuilt and fitted the heads today so I’ll have to sort something out so I can get her to temp.
New alli rad is seeming like the only choice now.
Thanks

Hi Phil......My radiator is not of the best & contains some rad. 'gloop' & has done for yonks which so far seems to be doing the trick but would be very interested in yours at some point in the future if that is a possibility? Your above post was written on my birthday, coincidentally...(that's not a hint, by the way, just an observation... :) - will obviously pay you what you deem it to be worth. I shall get saving...)

Hi

My couple of leads have gone cold!

Looks like I’ll have to cough up for a new one
