This is very strange , i thought someone paid around £5.000 for it .And now have it on ebay with no reserve .Bit of a risky gamble in my opinion

a dealer trying to make a quick buck ..maybe he thinks he will actually get the supposed valuation price...... you can end any listing with a single click so no real risk.

The current bidding pattern for the GTC somehow seems rather contrived.

Fully respect the views of those who deride a dealer for trying to make a quick buck, and people who it is implied pay over the odds for buying from a dealer rather than the 'proper' price - whatever that might be :? but there is another side to the coin:

relatively few private individuals are comfortable buying at auction - even if they can physically get there (most can't, there are only a handful of classic car auction sites in the country) or bid in real time (most can't as they are at work and can't phone in). So the practicalities for most potential buyers are large and real barriers. Furthermore, buying at auction has virtually no buyer protection, whereas even buying privately on eBay has *some*. And buying from a dealer typically brings more. So you get what you pay for.

As for dealers trying to make a quick buck, that is actually what they are in business *for*, and as has been pointed out, the dealer always takes a risk that he cannot sell, or sell only at a loss, and risk has a value which the dealer bears. The dealer also has other costs, such as transportation and storage, advertising and the costs of honouring any warranty he offers. These don't come for free, and again the dealer bears these costs. So his profit may be quick, but that doesn't mean it's always unduly large. Taking his overheads into account I very much doubt the re-seller (I'm not at all sure in this case it actually *is* a dealer) made more on this particular transaction than on any other typical car buy-sell deal.

Lastly, as has been pointed out too, the most recent market price has been established in a very open auction, and we should all be pleased that the price set is higher than the original auction - aren't we all pleased that the open market value of our cars is rising ?

Incidentally, before anyone makes any accusations  my Worcestershire link is well outside Worcester, whereas the re-seller in this case is in WR5 which covers most of Worcester city itself. I have no link at all with this car or the transactions being discussed.
