SE5a hiding in eBay collection

Post by runkthepunk » Wed Aug 09, 2017 5:01 pm

Hey guys

As I'm always on the lookout for an SE5A this one popped up on ebay a couple of weeks back: KRS913P

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reliant-scimi ... 1438.l2649

It was ended early and obviously a deal done outside ebay which is standard.

It's back again now but with a different seller and a buy it now price:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCIMITAR-3-0V ... SweNxZihYn

Still no MOT so a bit disappointing to say the least.

Sorry if it is being sold by someone on here but it's things like this that really annoy you when you're after a car.

SE5A quick flip?

Post by Oxymoron » Wed Aug 09, 2017 6:31 pm

Why does the vendor want £400.00 to MOT it???

If he wants the asking price it will need an mot anyway!

SE5A quick flip?

Some of the problems the car was having were mentioned in the original listing but the new listing makes no mention of the fuel leaking dangerously on to the engine for example.

Maybe they fixed that issue who knows.

Like I say just annoying, ah well.

I see poor George has so far not sold any of the three scimitars he was hoping to make a quick buck on, very amusing 😂

If I was looking to make a quick buck I wouldn't choose the Scimitar!

Very true.It seems like george got an advance copy of the last practical classics and read the bit about scimitars going up in value 😊

I don't mind someone making a living through buying and selling at a small profit, but huge markups and clearly misleading adverts about "clearouts" and "my cars/motorbikes" when he's so obviously only just bought them to flip is just plain annoying.

I particularly like his "long term storage" of the cars in the background :-)

SE5a hiding in eBay collection

This chap is one of the forums' favourites. Last year he had 5 GTEs for sale, and anybody that tried to ask him a question got both barrels in reply. He did have one car which was advertised for many weeks after the others had been sold, which just disappeared. I, too, saw the Scimitar in the background of the above shot. I sent him an e-mail to ask if it was still available but (surprisingly) have not received a reply. Good luck if you try to contact him, he seems to live in Sheffield, Goole or Doncaster, depending upon which car and day of the week you land on.

He did seem to have a number of decent cars at that time, but definitely no test drives (delivery only)

Stu

He did advertise that he was selling 5 scimitars,He then ,over a course of a few weeks bought 3 basket cases and tried to pass them off as part of his collection. I don't think he ever sold any , probably ended up in a skip somewhere.

I've merged an earlier thread (the only one left I think) at the beginning of this thread.
