Not sure it looks like a UK 1970/80s crated engine, but maybe another from SA? Not 3.4 nor injected so perhaps elsewhere?

South African Bakkie engine , that’s a Mk4 Cortina pick up truck engine.

Possibly for LPG.

They had these advertised a year or so ago but obviously not sold all of them.

IIRC Victor Pace bought one for his Coupe rebuild but it was rubbish.

Certainly a SAMCOR Essex - could be an industrial one but more likely a P100 lump. I doubt an industrial one would have a vacuum advance on the dizzy as it might have been a fixed speed unit?

Electronic Dizzy, funny type of thermostat housing, unusual rubber pipes for plumbing system.
I think we have had this discussion the last time this engine appeared. :w

The oddball thermostat housing (with a threaded fitting for the bypass hose) are instant SA giveaways alongside the rocker covers (with their different fixing screw positions).
