Cassette Sunroof (BRITAX?)

Post by MapleMax » Mon Sep 11, 2017 11:45 pm

Previous owner managed to lose the internal mechanism on the cassette sunroof which I am told is Britax and therefore impossible to buy parts for. I've contacted all the known suspects who repair/supply sunroofs but no luck.

Does anyone one have one knocking about??? At least it doesn't leak!

Hi Jim and Derek,
I used this guy for my replacement rubber seal but he may not do the mechanism etc inside but maybe worth a call?

Peter Bromley - Sunroof Technical Services - 07802820333 or petebrom.com@blueyonder.co.uk and he's based in Surrey.

Cheers
Kev

Cassette Sunroof (BRITAX?)

Post by ChrisC » Sun Oct 01, 2017 10:31 pm

Hi, I'm new on here, just brought a 6b with a cassette sunroof and now found out that it leeks in, (the car was always garage before so previous owner seems to be unaware of this and as the interior is in very good condition I have no reason to disbelieve him)
I was thinking that the drainage channels may have been blocked, but i'm unable to get to the rear ones; just reading this post and Kev has posted about a rubber seal, I'm now wondering if this could be the problem, if the seal was good should any water get in to part that the sliding roof slides on?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
chris

Back in the day I always used to clean my rubber seals with a damp cloth and some Fairy Liquid.

Of course, the seals will be a lot older now then they were then.

If that does not work then you could always temporary seal it with a bead of silicone to get you by until you find a permanent fix
