Hi

I have now two 6a chassis to get rid of. Both cars were not worth saving so the plastic part has gone. One of the chassis has some issues on the outer riggers that run along the sill and also on the back but its easy to get to and repair now so could be made sound before being put onto another car. The second chassis is better and appears mostly solid. I have the log books for each in my name, along with the chassis plates.

I will give them a brush over soon and then put pictures on ebay etc but I though I would also tell people on here in case someone is keen for a stripped chassis.

Cost wise I am open to discussions and looking for whatever is fair. Any one with any idea of the value of these, id be interested to know more.

Mark

hmmm the centre section of that original post does not show on my android phone but does on my Mac.... very strange.

there is a galvanised chassis and log book for sale not far from me for £400, there was an ungalvanised one on ebay not long ago that went unsold for £60 so I guess yours are worth somewhere between the two.

Yep, I’d say 50-150 depending on condition. Of course, it’s finding the person that needs one that’s the hard bit :D

Thanks for the info.

I did wonder if it was worth getting the better one fully cleaned and treated and but it sounds like it would not make sense for me to do it, better to leave it to whoever (if anybody) buys it.

I wondered today if I could be bothered to waste a few hours with my mig welder to make up a pedal box mount and support for the steering column. Then you only have to bolt a seat back on and go out for a drive! I imagine that its been done before a few times.

Your advert says “stripped chassis” are you saying that they’re actually complete rolling chassis with engine/gearbox, axle, steering rack, suspension, etc still fitted?

The better one is already completely stripped ready to go. The other one still is rolling although I intend to remove the axle and front suspension in the next few days. I think the beer and my imagination were at work the other night when I was considering putting the running gear back on to have a drive. Silly man!

Sorry for any confusion.

I have now listed the more rusty chassis on ebay so if anyone is interested in having a look at the pictures the Item number is : 333273058023

I think that it is probably not going to sell so I will probably take it to weigh in along with a discovery body shell in a couple of weeks.
