XJS mirrors for sale

Post by drcdb15 » Sat Jul 21, 2018 8:25 pm

I have two sets of XJS mirrors for sale, all powered and doing what they should as I recall, from when I tested them back in January. If there's any interest I will update this post with details. I know there are the 'real' ones and look alikes, and these are the real things - I vaguely recall discussing this on someone else's thread months ago, for a GTC? Anyway, if anyone's interested I'll bring this (and myself!) up to speed. Thanks

XJS mirrors for sale

Post by drcdb15 » Mon Jul 30, 2018 3:01 pm

I have four chrome XJS door mirrors for sale, ONLY IN PAIRS. They are definitely XJS and NOT S2. They are all motorised and all the motors work, all the wiring is there. However, only three of them have heaters. Those that have heaters do work. Sadly, the one without a heater is the driver's side.

Note these are CHROME, not stainless. I can't find any information anywhere that suggests Jaguar ever fitted stainless mirrors to the XJS, so treat any claims to the contrary with caution.

As for condition, they all have some pitting. This varies from *very* mild, to 'not too bad, you'll never notice from a few feet away'. The good news is that the worst pitting seems to occur on the underside, so in practice you really never will notice! If you wish, I will get some photos and post them on the Forum.

The heated set includes the mounting pads too, though these are available anyway from Jag suppliers for around £17 the pair, genuine parts.

Pricing: the 'half'-heated set at £65, and the heated set at £85, shipping extra (probably around a tenner or less, using Collect+). However, if you take all four then I'll let you have them for £140 including shipping within the UK. Payment by PayPal, bank transfer or cheque by post.

Please PM me if interested, with details of your preferred payment method and shipping address. UK ADDRESSES ONLY.

I have fitted these also, but I now know a man who I can come to if I cannot work out the wiring.

XJS mirrors for sale

One set has now been sold; the NON-heated driver's side pair is still for sale at £65 plus shipping (which for the first set was £8.29). If you wanted the driver's side heated, I guess you might be able to swap over the internals, I doubt if they are handed - does anyone know?

The glasses aren't handed but the tricky bit would be moving the wires over. They seem to be very tightly threaded through the plinth. PS to take the glasses out you need a strong thin blade to lever them forward out of the body. Be brave - they can take a fair bit of pressure.
Alex.
