1974 Scimitar se5a dismantling

Post by Colinsw1 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 4:59 pm

1974 se5a Complete car dismantling for spares. Good mechanical condition - excellent engine, 0/d gearbox, good rear axle . Trim poor apart from dash which is very good - the black vinyl seats would repair as they're just split along the seams on the base (fronts). The rears are very good. S/s exhaust and header tank. Good front bumpers. Wolfrace wheels with excellent tyres plus set of steel wheels. Good screen. Tow bar. Happy to ship. Tel. Colin 07799693555

Hi would you have the plastic covers that are fitted to cover the seat pivots of the front seats? I specifically need the RH seat inner or the LH seat outer. I also need a pair of sunvisors in good condition and a pair of original door tread sill plates regards terry

I'm a bit late to this one, but I don't suppose you've got a pair of door mirrors have you?

Ideally this car needs restoring. All the panels are dead straight with only the front o/s wing and bonnet needing painting - they're all prepped and ready for primer. It's black tulip. Paint to finish job is with the car. The car will be stripped but would prefer to leave as rolling chassis which means the axle/diff will be left on the car as well as all the suspension, brakes, electrics, steering (it's not pas) the head cloth is unmarked. I can leave all the glass in place. If you're restoring a car then this would be a great basis for a transfer over as the chassis/outriggers/sills are superb and have never been welded and need none. Doors shut perfectly. If you have a good engine and box plus a decent interior this could make a really nice car with minimal work. It's an auto and I could leave the box in place with the prop.
What won't be with the car are: engine, radiator, bumpers, servo, dash, lights, fuel tank, grill, rear lights, indicators, seats and door cards, carpets, various trim parts. I'd like £350.00 for the rolling shell as described. Can deliver at £1.20/mile one direction. I could easily break the car and get more but would prefer to see it back on the road. Various duplicate posts merged or deleted but here’s where I think it stands:

Axle is sold

Exhaust is sold

Fuel tank is sold

Auto box is here

Engine is here

Interior is here

The body and chassis is now on eBay here (although it may be pulled when they notice the phone number in the ad), along with lots of other bits here.

Note that Colin doesn’t seem to respond to emails or PMs (or is it just mine :D ), so telephone seems to be the only contact method.
