Thanks Mikey - was going to PM you after Geoff told me (but this has been my normal finish time!) are you not at the test day?

In addition to the seat refurb here, I also needed to fit a heater valve before Classic Le Mans. No pictures yet but I managed to buy a taxi valve and new control cables and today I eventually got it fitted :-)

got a few hours in the man cave today after a busy weekend in Twickenham :-)

finished off the heater and checked it for leaks then decided to replace the light switch that I bodged when it failed last year (put sides and main on the same terminal). Also added a relay for the mains. Then I replaced the choke cable as the old one was really stiff. Changed the temp and volts gauges for digital versions and started to clean up the bits of remaining carpet - gave up and ordered a new set

still need to find rear vinyl seats in black.

After changing the alternator on Sarah's car last weekend and finding that although we now had electrics, we still had a coolant leak (the alternator is water cooled because it's so close to the turbo), I identified the water pump as the culprit. £30 odd quid delivered was easy enough to stomach but the 9 fixing bolts (two different sized torx bolts and one hidden behind the idler wheel attached to the water pump) were interesting to say the least (don't ever complain about the GTE pump again!) and I had to drop the rad fan and shroud as well as disconnecting a couple of fuel pipes.

Anyway - after doing that, I set to on the carpet that remained in 8 ball and quickly had this

Luckily I bought 3 rolls of cheap soundproofing because this is where I finished tonight after using two of the rolls (2m x 1m each)

After deliberating for hours on what colour to paint my jack and wheelbrace, I decided to do something productive and finished the soundproofing (no pics as I forgot my phone). Unfortunately as I was extracting myself from upside down in the drivers footwell, I made the mistake of using the grab handle - which promptly came off in my hand :-(

So I brought them home to clean and repair - they didn't look too bad but look at the difference after I'd cleaned the first one!

And both cleaned

In the next instalment - moving to Cheshire

Military polishing skills coming to good use then Jim. Can you add brass buttons in to the set re-trim?

American cars, but British planes, assuming that that that is indeed an Hawker Fury in the background. Lovely.

I suspect that's a poor representation of an F4U Corsair , well-known in France, where the Fury is almost unknown. Note the date, still time to book your tickets!

Thats one of a couple of French Seafuries both of which fly with Wright 3350 engines and 4 blade props.

Right! So I did the artist an injustice  His representation is very accurate. My only other regret is that I won't be there, even though the event is only 45Kms away - it clashes with another car event . Just spoiled for choice at the moment! Maybe I'll get to see the real 8-Ball one day!
