First time I've seen this. That's just lovely. I can't work out why, but that colour scheme makes it look classic and fresh at the same time.
Clever idea with the dark wheel trims.

Certainly looks absolutely stunning, Mal, and a fitting tribute to your Father-in-Law :) Hope the snag list gets sorted quickly.

I'm still writing it up Roger!.

I think I will be on to 3 or 4 pages by the time I'm done.!

Oh, I have a big ask!....

Would some one who is local from either the Somerset, Wilts or Glos groups be willing to come down and help me get her running right?

Also to help me work out what else is in need of attention?

I don't want to send it back for final works having missed something that could cause major issues later.

Plenty of brews, biscuits and fuel covered of course.

Wow, I'd love to come over! Sadly though I have my reliable modern daily car to repair :( (plus with a non-functioning overdrive the fuel bill would be pretty scary).

I might well do that, I remember you kindly invited me over around Christmas time when I was looking for a car before I rushed in like an excited child and got the rolling project I now have. I was supposed to sell the Cortina and Escort first!

Had a visit from Dave Peek, who kindly inspected the car with me.

Lots more we were not happy with, have been in touch with the restorer and am awaiting a reply.

Suffice to say the cost to rectify / complete is high considering what we have spent so far.

Due to it's lack of usability we didn't get to the gathering in Haywood the other weekend.

So the car sit's and wait's, I sit and wait.

If no joy/ agreement by Monday they will be getting an ultimatum.

Mal.

Car has been collected by the restorer and is being sorted.

This means it is unlikely we will make Curbs this time. :(

A shame really as I have been having regular chats with the boys at GW about the build they are doing, and we were looking forward to comparing note's at the event.

Hi Mal
At least it is now getting sorted. I am sure the restorer will ensure it gets finished correctly this time.
Then you be free to enjoy it for years to come.
Regards phil

And we will bring it over to see you.

If not for you, we may never have got the car back, and we are eternally grateful.

Mal.

Well it's been 2 years, 2 Month's and 15 day's (ish) since my last post on this car.

Suffice to say we have gone through every emotion imaginable with this build, both due to the car's restoration issues and it's significance to us as a family.

When we get the final nod (which should be in the next few days) I would like to beg Dave Peek's assistance again before we collect it.

But here's a taste of what's to come......

Being road tested at a private track to set up the suspensions final settings.
