Those 54degree V6 does sound rather glorious when piling on the revs - even with the original flywheel and on stock EFi.

Tried the party trick of balancing coins on their edge on the plenum whilst idling yet? Think I got to £1.72
Hmm, currently at about £1500.00.

Agreed, incredibly quiet on tickover

Frustrating progress. Absolutely refused to start yesterday. So rich, lpg fumes everywhere even on just turning over. Went through everything, don’t really know what’s changed but today she starts but very rich. Lambda sensor and map sensor working. The ecu has software with it and I’ve got it plugged in when running. Anyways took her for another spin . Gave her some real throttle and the clutch slipped.... blue smoke. One step forward, one sideways one back. I’ll be on strictly soon...

Just had a thought. The map he sent me might be for a fly by wire. Course, I’m on normal throttle cable.

might be worth checking after start and warmup enrichment tables if you can access these? will cause cold start problems if misadjusted

When I did my 2.9 conversion I drove about two miles then discovered as soon as I opened the throttle the clutch slipped straight away... Gearbox off, then discovered I had fitted the wrong flywheel :w

100 miles later (and first journey with my disapproving missus) and my top hose solution decided to split...

You will get there mate

So did a fair bit of research and investigated the fueeling... NOT.
Had an idea on the way home. Just took 4 values off every cell in the fuel map and went for a drive.

Still overfuelling horribly at the lower rev range & under load but once she shakes the misfire off she just launches her self at the horizon like a rabid rottweiller on steroids who's seen a bunny rabbit 2 miles away.

FM. Scared meself silly. Wheelspinning, having to change gear like a loony cause she's spinning up so fast then hitting the powerband and being pushed back in the seat. Honest I was glad to shut the garage door and walk away for a beer and a lie down. I'm sure I could hear her barking as I walked away... Probably saw a cat on the horizon....

It sounds like you need to book a mapping session on a rolling road.

this injction stuff is great. You can change maps on the fly . :)

This was the map i was sent. More like a mountain range.

Yep, it's just mapping software for a mapable ECU. My previous comment remains the same.

I am totally converted. A modern v6 with all the environmental restrictions removed (cat, air flow turbulence, lean mix etc ) is phenomenal. It’s got the benefit of 40 years of engineering research over the essex. It’s not that I don’t like the essex, I love it; but really but the comparison is chalk and cheese.

However I suppose it’s one extreme to another. I was doing donuts today and the back flips round sooo quick. Accelerating, leaving two size 11’s, you have to lift off to stop it or your drifting , rather quickly, into the ditch, kerb or whatever. But the wail is addictive...

One foible. The conversion generally appears excellent but I am getting some clutch slip between gears when giving it some.... it’s a performance clutch plate, new LUK pressure plate and an old school red top flywheel. The flywheel bite face looks tired but the local engineer said it looks fine. So now I’m not sure

I imagine the clutch cover doesn’t have enough pressure, had it once on a Sierra Cossie. Supplier sent us the wrong one (looked fine) but slipped as soon as you came on boost. It came all back out again for the 7th billion time... :w
