It will fit the engine but the downpipe will need modifying (as you probably know).
nope... haven't got a clue to be honest Phil mentioned it would help it breath a bit better

what modification does it need?

There’s a pic of the one I sold recently or one that Phil A posted somewhere - the manifold outlet is about 90 deg out, so the top of the downpipe needs chopping off, rotating and gluing back on.

maybe not 90 degrees , but it does need chopped & rotated, you still interested? ( i do have a spare one, the original 'flat top version' cracked so swapped it out and found another in breakers yard so snaffled it for 'future use' . . .. .

it is NOT a straight swap and its more than five minutes with MiG / TiG

might be 'difficult' on the 1400 if it is shorter block so less room to get pipe oot through chassis leg/hole?

1400 block height roughly the same as 1600 if not identical

Here. I didn’t find it anywhere near as difficult as Phil did to modify the standard downpipe and while it’s still restricted further down, I think the better flow path can only help a little.

The initial struggle was in trying to cut and shut twin pipe ford downpipes to make something that fitted the SS1 and flowed.
Chopping and rotating the std downpipe is easy enough, indeed that was a quick bodge to get the car to the fabricator and took about half an hour.
I have no measured evidence, but do theorise that an Xr3i manifold leading into an immediate merge won't gain much, but yes the manifold alone is better. It's the standard downpipe and system that is crap.

Here is a link to my efforts

http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/view ... ld#p182621.

I measured up and from what I can see the XR3i unit is 125mm from block to centre of the twin pipes and 160mm from centre of the manifold to face of the twin pipes.
it appears to be 'right angle' to the block as well rather than a slight angle.

only marginal improvement in oomph, but better at keeping exhaust gasses in than venting to under bonnet :-)

and PM sent. I can post photos to you then??

I’ve just dug out my pack of fixings (and the plates) for fitting my P&P hoop - and a new set of very nears arrived this week too - so I can measure up at the weekend if needed.

Not sure if the club still stocks them but I was selling them for less than that to club members.

Mgpartsworld is one of Reliant Parts World Ltd many trading names I presume?

Cheers guys for the comments on the spacers.

another shopping list, thanks to Jims list. I may use stainless bolts this time, ......

the ti bracket is different to this one, I didn't know if the spacers were the same.

I am very pleased with the roll bar from Darryl clearly the alloy spacers pictured were tinkered with to fit it to his car. I will make some spaces and send it all off to the powder coater.....
