8 gallons gets you to about the bottom of the filler neck on the tank, so that's the point at which it used to come pouring out all over the wing on left hand corners..

Despite being a metric car, the handbook says 10 gallons (45.4 litres) which is rounded down a tad :D

OK stand corrected on tank volume, when brimming fill it does tend to piddle out on corners/stood down hill to O/S!!

so strictly speaking the question should have been
'what is surface area of SS1 tank'

yes may be that would have been a better indicator as to what is needed ..... but as the "kits" sold by frost refer to tank capacity not surface area I posed the question. The standard kit was for a 34 litre tank and would have been too small. I could not remember the the kit I used on the ti.

The tanks outer shell inner surface was in good order (as was the one on my ti), the baffles though on both were in poor condition covered in rust. The kit cleaned the tank, removed the rust very well and gave it a nice silver coating ... have to wait 96 hours before adding fuel....

well the tank went back in with out any issues fuel lines changed using AJL's pipes.

I fitted the roll bar, the brackets to fit between the bar and the seat belt top mount had to be remade and powder coated the ones that came with the bar would not fit.

well she is ready for an MOT, now the weather is picking up so I phoned my insurer Adrian Flux... been with them for years and I have a current policy with four cars that is due for renewal on 1st May. I have never had issues chopping and changing vehicles but today spent 40 minutes on the phone they wanted £30 admin fee and £21 for one months cover which would take me to renewal, making 12 months cover over £250 . I didn't pay much more than that for 4 cars, so needless to say I am looking for another insurer, and won't be using it for a little while longer... bit out of touch with classic insurers so will need to phone around

I’ve been happy with Classicline and RH in the past (RH have several happy customers on here too) although Lancaster are doing well out of my of late.

If 'admin' fees and Premium rate numbers wind you up like they do me, you need to talk to RH. I don't even bother looking around at renewal any more.
