Pleased to see holding off for the right car has paid off. :)

I first saw this one at Calendar a few (5?) years back, she was on Wolfrace then, those Princess Anne wheels look superb against the silver. The paint looked very good then but for a few minor blemishes. Fantastic example!

A well known car in central Scotland circles, here it is at a very wet Stirling Classic Car Show in 2013!

I have to say, I completely get what you mean about big projects Paul. More and more I pine over a nice road car.

I bought a 6a Auto to cruise around in but that’s turning out to be a minor resto too!! :w haha

I used to be able to turn a full resto or race car build around in 6-12 months, but it took way too much of my time and that's just not an option anymore.. I have the race car which I'll probably keep developing over the years and get it log booked, this one is my Scimitar road car which will be a rolling resto and I've bought a 911 which is hopefully an investment and just needs a bit of tlc

I finally got the car off the trailer and out of the garage today.. only taken three months!

I had a good run in it and took it home for a wash. It came up pretty well and drives well too! Once I’ve got the first event of the sprint season out of the way, I’ll start stripping this to remove the vinyl roof and give it a respray..

She's looking good! I look forward to seeing your progress, but please do look after her... I have quite a soft spot for her, as she was my old car show buddy (as evidenced by Will's photos above)! :D

To be fair the photo's are very flattering regarding the paintwork, so I'm not losing the plot when I say it needs a respray

I had the car out last weekend and it's gone from running not quite right to amazing just from being sat on my parents drive in the snow and rain for a couple of weeks!!???

Anyway after a very enjoyable drive out I put it back in the garage to start stripping it for the respray...

The main reason for this as I've mentioned, is to remove the vinyl roof; and this is what I found underneath!

Worse than I expected, and I'll need to renew the gel coat on the roof as it's crazed everywhere. It will be well worth the effort though 8)

On the upside, no Webasto to replace or sunroof to deal with.

I've no idea Scott, some generic seal I imagine? It's going to be replaced by the correct one when I've painted it.
