nope - I changed an SS1 from 1600 to 1300. They were more bothered about the reduction in VED class! I just sent an invoice for the engine (with engine number) on my company headed paper.

If you want a auto and a nice simple engine conversion have you considered 2.9 12v cologne with 4 speed auto? I know it's old hat but very DIY friendly and a lovely engine (more like the Essex torque with 2.8 smoothness)

I did eye up a few scorpio's on the net ...tempting...but I may be okay...Steve (PO) seemed quite confident it will be okay..and after all he is an engineer.. :D

we put a battery on - the indicators came on :) - the car turned :D - but we had no fuel- so will be popping out later to try again.. :D - i can see the pierburg carb- that will probably go - as i gather they are not the easiest to tune\setup....

now i got to reduce the car count down to the final three.....

excited!!!

it needs new manifolds..as they are cracked both sides ( SS replacements?)...the coolant leaked...but this seems down to rusted jubilee clips on the bottom rad hose and thermostat housing..the hoses seem in good nick...

the cleaner one was a quick wire brush with bleach! .. compared to vinegar - the bleach was much quicker reacting - but i wont be using it again ..interesting though
