XCP - Continuation

Post by Revingtosh » Fri May 12, 2017 5:13 pm

Hi,

After absolutely zero deliberation - i recently bought XCP from Scimmymike. I've been into old Minis for years, and the usual classic Fords etc - but in recent years ive gradually become more and more irritated by the massive scene tax on anything with a Ford badge attached to it - hence the rather short hunt for a Scimitar. My 4 year old daughter has named the 6b "Big Bad Barry" after a character in one of her favourite TV programmes - this name seems to have stuck :D

I'm over the moon with it - Mike has done wonderful job on bringing the car up to scratch.

Hopefully over the coming years and months i'll be able to put my own slant on the 6B on it as well as continuing Mikes good work.

I did have to give my head a wobble earlier in the week though - i really fancied that white V8 which come up on Ebay. £3200 the V8 went for on Ebay. A ridiculous amount of car for the money.

I agree scene tax is ridiculous for certain manufacturers. These scims are great value for money and drive so well when compared to similar cars of the era. Don't think I've seen a JDM 6 series, should look really cool.

The wheels are 15x8 ET0 of a Datsun 240z

My aim is to make all mods reversible so that it can be reverted back to a standard looking Scim

I have a feeling the fronts will need a fairly thick spacer

I'm not entirely happy with the arch / stance / poke / ride height conundrum yet.

But getting this all right has been a bit of a bugger, with spacers, dicky wheelnuts, and now I've found that no one does a proper flared arch kit to my taste. I have some tricks up my sleeve though - I'm not beaten yet.

It's all part of the fun isn't it?
