Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.

With this blower then maybe 180-200 or so with no lag.
180bhp of linear power should destroy a peaky turbo car with similar power 8)

Currently 1A - not committing to having the SC running this coming season so the stock 134(?)bhp should be within the capability of our ready-scrubbed RS3s.

Shortening the gearlinkage appears to have been the easy bit (chop, chop, drill). Getting the gearbox to actually fit the tunnel has been a bigger issue.

The MX5 gearbox doesn’t have a rear gearbox mount per se - there’s a huge aluminium channel which bolts the gearbox directly to the diff so the rear gearbox mount it actually the diff mounts. That’s not going to work in an SS1 either but there’s a huge lump of casting on the tail shaft mousing for this.

Originally it looks like this:

Not any more it doesn’t..

(But that’s why we have lump hammers..)
At least the gear-lever will be in the right place:

Luckily there’s a couple of M10x1.25 bolt holes at the back (originally an exhaust mounting IIRC - visible in the first pic), so hopefully I can pick up on those for a mounting of some sort.

I think I’ve found the sweet spot where things almost clear, so time to make up some new mounts.

Looks like the supercharger should fit Ok too..

disappointed it is not mounted through a hole in the top of the bonnet
ideally with two or three butterfly valves?

so a potential 'wolf in sheeps clothing' even if you have no plans to frighten the b'jesu oot of hot hatches at the traffic lights

Need to maintain the silhouette, so no obnoxious protrusion allowed.
