The colour of the red/orange coupé posted by Roger above looks very similar to Triumph Pimento red...

That was on the twisty bits above Beachy Head so it was a good job it did make the corners. The photographer was hanging out the rear side windows to get the shots.....

Paul is correct that the paint is "red". Ford Sebring Red according to the car history. I do wonder if it changed over the years but if it did, it did it remarkably evenly. Let's face it it was Orange.

Here's a link to another cheap car in the same colour: http://charmansnew.mojom.co.uk/sold_detail.php?id=26

That's interesting - back in the late '70s/very early '80s, I had a Mk3 Cortina 2000E in Sebring Red (with a black vinyl roof! :o ) and I would say it was redder than both your Coupe, and the Escort in that ad (though I still tended to think of it as orange anyway! ). I sold it to buy the mulberry GTE; if I could have kept it it would probably be worth a few bob these days.....

Well my comprehensive get it going kit, was missing a fuel pump and the plug leads are like rock despite looking good! So those are on order, but it turns over off the key and there's a strong spark....found that out the hard way!

Hope the Intermotor bits are not rotor arms. You should get the red ones from Distributor Doctor. Black ones with rivets are a BIG problem. Nearly cost me a bucket load of penalties on a rally.

I thought they only did Lucas bits, not FoMoCo/Motorcraft parts?

Thanks for the heads up Geoff, I've run Bosch distributors for years so not so up on the Motorcraft ones as I've usually binned them

Like Phil say they're all Lucas, so which one do I need?

Best phone Martin Jay on 01984 629 540 and see if he has a rotor for your specific distributor type.

Well I managed to finally get a couple of hours on the car and with its new fuel pump and plug leads it starts and run incredibly smooth with great oil pressure... So it certainly looks like it's a 400 mile Robin Rew engine and that bit won't need much work at all!!

Merry Christmas to all!!
