I see from the soot on the back wall you're still tinkering with the carbs on the Jensen :lol:


I'm the fella with the MK1 Cavalier soft top that was at the Limerick meet up a few months ago, I've bought the red SE5a that was on DoneDeal a few weeks back :wink:

The two closer black spots are the Scimitar, a lot blacker than the CV8 outer ones, as it hadn't run in three years and I'd lashed diesel into the cylinders to lubricate the pistons/rings!

Did you buy from the same man I did in Milltown Malbay?

I am now close to reassembling the suspension and in some doubt as to the orientation of the chassis W/B brackets. I have looked at photos of other cars and there does not seem to be a definitive answer!

As they came off the car, RH side:

But I don't trust that this is correct, mainly due to the TR vertical link which I found fitted, can someone please confirm? On some cars the bolts are forward of the centre line of the bracket.

I'm now also in need of a lower wishbone because of excess wear on the O/S, why only one? Not sure which one but the numbers on the casting are XAW5186 if anyone has one lying around.....

There is a definitive answer but it's different between PAS and manual steering :-)

PAS studs are offset to the rear, manual steering the studs are offset to the front. Along with the top wishbones being reversed and a different trunnion, this gives the bigger castor angle that the PAS cars need.

Body is hopefully heading off for a lick of paint after the local show where I've been asked to display it in it's two halves, here's hoping for good weather.

What other options are there when it comes to rear lights, other than the now dubious Romainian ones, as now is the time to make any changes to accomadate an upgade?

I am also missing the four front panels that fit inside the wheels to cover/hide the suspension, does anyone have a set?

That is a lot of rubbing down there....

Rear Lights - there's 2 types of trailer lights or you could try the Mercedes truck lights (Middlebridge) which require a bit of grp work to fit.
I bought a set for that next project.
