Sikaflex and make your own “grommet”?

Wrapping it in self-amalgamating tape might do as well but it might keep on melting..

I have connected my cables directly onto the wires 'within' then came out through a 'grommet' ( I think, as my amp is also on the bulk-head)

I probably have the brown bits of plastic kicking around on some of the old dizzy if you really wanted? but from memory the cable insulation looked 'open' on them, ie suffered from heat?

my pseudo amp on the dizzy is feeding cables to the live amp on the bulkhead - i think i may go the 'wood' route to ease the shaping and wire route for the dizzy brown grommet ...should be okay ..

Good day all,

well i managed to repair the green and black wires and heat shrunk wrapped...i did not use the wood route yet for the grommet -
Installed the dizzy back in - used a new amp .

Car turns over but no go.... i used the no1 cylinder spark lead to confirm i do get a spark - but not a blue on - a yellow one ( ..spare plug was quite carboned)
I have put the battery on charge for now and have some neat fuel ready to pour down the carb...will retry in a few hours... :(

Good day all,

so...neat fuel down the carb- the car does start and keep running - so spark side is all okay.
Next i detached the fuel hose between the pump and carb inlet - and ran a hose into a glass bottle.....

Image

the top layer of petrol is the neat that i added!!...so those whom suspected water.... lots of it- the tank gauge is near the first mark - so lots of fluid to remove!!

i guess it will be best to remove the plugs to ease compression- and use the starter to pump it all out- i have a large 25l tank

decided - i will take the electric one off the GTE and use that - will run for longer than the starter motor method.

Or, just whip the boot liner and tank out?
