You need the nose cone off, so you’re going to have to take the headlight panel off to release it.

do you photos of my 'agricultural' repair? it wasn't that difficult, but the nose section was removed for access, which you'll need to do any way!!

only reason for the angle (well actually three) 1 no folding machine 2 folding machine (if purchased) would 'usually' be 600mm wide max, and thirdly I had 1" section !!!

welded a short section of flat bar to the angle iron to fix to armature, then discovered that sides of chassis isn't 'quite' parallel and so it is not at right angles!! so having made in advance from measuring width at top of chassis had to cut it off and start again (it was too wide the first time  )

Manny's SS1 1800 Ti

Post by manny » Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:55 pm

Good day

dropped of my rad to the tank guy - he's going to upgrade the core and make it nice and shiny - all for £130 - he did my Tr one for £200 a few years back - but that was half as large again as the Ti one...
He did state it's okay as is - but is getting rotten- so options were a standard re-core at £80 or the upgraded one- i may as well get the tank out too - are the tanks the same spec\construction on all SS1's?

CVH/Nissan/K series all use different tanks - the core is possibly the same though.

Edit - not 100% sure K series isn’t the same as CVH but can’t check atm :D

Ah - you were talking about rads :)

3 types of tank I can think of - early with vent near the fuel cap, later with vent on LHS, latest with vent on LHS, outlet on the bottom of the tank and a return on the rear face (not on gauge sender).

Good day all ,

i did a bit more tidying up of the lower radiator support ...hopefully a but more today before applying some primer....
The upper rad support had two grommets that secured the rads upper pins, are these grommets just that ..standard grommets ..and available if i measure the diameter?

Hi Colin,

I have a 190e that i purchased just to attend my cousin's wedding in Tuscany last May...we did that two up without stopping!! 27hrs and 2.5 tanks of fuel..1100 miles..
So that will my preference as it's an auto and very relaxed\lazy to drive..
This new trip is just that..no plans etc, but as we have 2 days to get to our destination, our plan is a coastal drive and then head inwards, it will probably double the distance, but while we still can....
If the Ti is ready..you never know...
