It's pretty sorted Cliff 8) Electronic boost controller to fit which came with the car and I'd like to change some of the external decals/ stickers etc to make the car our own but nothing too radical. May also fit a passenger seat for track/ test days (battery and fire extinguisher to move then though :( )

It needs a new dyno run and weighing at the local weighbridge before next year too.

One of the jobs I do need to do is to increase security.

The car has push button start with no key required. Corky kept it in a locked garage; with me it sits outside on the trailer :( The doors lock but I'd still like to improve security :)

I like the idea of push button start but I could replace it with a key switch or fit a battery isolator with removable key or find another way to imobilise the car :?

thoughts :?:

It'd be a pretty determined thief to try and get it off the trailer ! Not to mention that they'd probably ground it

I'd be tempted to remove the isolator key and maybe fit some sort of alarm if you're worried.

Yes I did think of removing the isolator key but its attached by the cable isn't it :?: ...and those keys are readily available anyway

Remove the battery then perhaps, easy to do and it's not like you might suddenly fancy a trip down to the shops in it.

If you can secure the trailer with the ramps against the garage door or a wall, that would help prevent the car being taken?

Agreed - if it's kept on the trailer, they won't bother to pinch the car - they'll just take the trailer...

I keep the trailer on the drive with the hitch nearest the garage door; the hitch is fitted with a lock and the wheels have a wheel clamp fitted. I store it that way as I feel the trailer is more secure. I agree that the car would be more secure with the trailer the other way round...unless as Phil suggests they then nick the whole damned lot

Perhaps a wheel clamp on the car too.......it has no steering lock either so I guess that it could be pushed off the trailer even if they can't start it.

I'm probably worrying about this too much but things can and do go missing so I just want to make the car and trailer as secure as is practically possible

Mine has no door / bonnet / boot locks or steering lock, but does start on a key - not going to stop someone nicking it but its enough to stop an opportunist having a go!
