Blimey, you have been busy Crusty!!

Think we will have to change ya moniker to Dusty Crouch now though

Least you can see where we can do repairs, the boot area and number plate sections were pretty ropey, so we can start there 8) 8)

My thinking also!

Look up "Fordite"

A rare man made mineral* very popular for making jewellery and other such things.

*or more simply, the globs of built up paint chipped off production line spray equipment from years ago.

https://boredomtherapy.com/fordite/

Otherwise, keep up the good work. Don't you just love plastic cars eh?!

A total of 21 hours so far of "Scimitar back ache" inducing hard work has about a third of the body sanded down to the red. The Henry vacuum cleaner is still sucking away, vastly reducing the dust but I've worn out the Velcro pad on the random orbital! I'm impressed with the "Abranet" discs, swiftly abrading the extremely hard clear and turquoise coats but being able, with soft pressure, to successfully smooth away the softer layers underneath.
The concave compound curves, swage-lines and ridges have needed some care and have been finished by hand using a small wooden backing block, very time consuming! However, only another 40ish hours t' go!

I feel your pain, I hate body work too. However, it will be a distant memory once it's got a shiny new paint job & you can see the feature lines again, rather than them being softened out with all the layers of paint.

Glad you're going to paint it, I wouldn't know what colour to list it under in psychedelic state

I see you've got rid of the old blue body shell & got a replacement red one instead!

Another spell of sanding for a change, 39 hours and counting. I think it's 90% done but all the awkward fiddlybits to go, mostly by hand. I've found four panels in the wheel wells giving access to the door strikerplate fastenings but the ones in the rear of the front arches have me mystified.
