True. It was the first one I came across ... and it is solid gold!

There are cheaper ones on eBay if you're stuck - e.g. £2.99.

No response from an email to Friction Hydralics so amazed to be given a handful of adaptors from a metric Jap engined slinky stinky wedge driver, one of which fits! Proper job!

Full day in the garage saw two spare heads dismantled, cleaned and jury fitted to the block. The tubular manifold flange plates are on to provide a starting point for the new manifolds.

All the new exhaust bracketry have been red oxided and black glossed.

Tail pipes and silencers fitted both sides, looking good with the extra supports giving a secure but slightly flexible result and the things are clear of the rear suspension bracketry, axle and central in the outrigger holes. Inlet fanimold and rocker covers jury mounted. Water pump fitted so now the chassis is ready to trip down to the exhaust guru.

Well the months of grumpiness have started, after hours of surface sanding, grinding out cracks and stepping back to rest for a look/see, the bodywork is revealing its history. So far it's showing a new boot back and front end with copious quantities of filler randomly around the sides. The body, bonnet and boot lid have coats of clear then turquoise, black barrier, lime green, gold, cream, red and silvery blue bottom coat! The clear is extremely hard but the rest are not so. The doors have the same clear over turquoise then yellow! The process has reminded me that I never have enjoyed bodywork! Still, crackin' on!
