It's a Bosch random orbital but I have a 1/4 sheet domestic sander too. I use Abranet 120 and 80 grit abrasives.

Going through a huge box of old photos, found some from 1994 when we went in the Se5a to Sunderland Airport. This is one of the Coupe, who knew that 25 years later it would be in my garage under major restoration!

I took advantage of a dry day to do a mahoosive shunt to re-arrange stuff on the ramp, so the palleted "treasure" and repaired chassis was taken out, body lifted off the transport trolley and left up on beams while the trolley was exchanged for the repaired chassis.
I've looked at the factory exhaust mounts and decided that the long, heavy single silencer could do with more support. A couple of angles welded to the bottom of the outer chassis rails either end of the silencer become mounts for bobbins in compression. Small angle brackets bolt to the pipe clamps and bobbins providing the support. An extra angle is welded to the chassis rails where they angle upwards, angled pipe sockets are clamped to the tailpipe and the original mounts complete the setup.
I've tweeted the tail pipes to positively clear the rear axle suspension mounts and centralise the exhausts in the outrigger holes.

Drivers side tail pipe and silencer brackets fitted, both sides front and rear silencer pipes are now central in the outrigger holes, proper job!

Scrap tubular exhaust headers have donated the manifold flanges to enable the fitter to use them as a pattern.
