i bought the car in october for the princely sum of £150, (the trailer hire and fuel cost more than the car!!)
Not had the chance to really get too grips with any of the work due to work and new arrival to the family.
today though was the first chance to really get to grips with the car.
spent the first 3 hours trying to locate and undo the numerous bolts holding the body on,then spent 2 hours lifting the body and swearing profusly as it wouldnt budge.
spent an hour stress relieving by removing the remains of the wiring loom from the non existant dash board and empty engine bay.
then i found the roll bar nuts ( or lumps after the rust had been at them).
i didnt faff around i just cut a slot on the lower edge of the sill and grinded the buggers off.
who ever said you needed 4+ men to lift the body lied, i did it in 2 hours on my own with 3 old scissor jacks and 6 beer crates and blocks of wood and a couple of smoke breaks.
after rolling the chassis into the garage and trying to see if there was any metal left ive called it a day. though the rust pile i swept up, i later found out to be the entire crossmember that mounts the rear bumper.
will sort some pictures once i learn how to upload them
