Harry's 1970 SE5

Post by HarryD » Fri Nov 28, 2014 11:16 pm

on the 9th of august I bought my very own 1970 se5 off scimmymike
when I was little 3-5years old my dad had 3 classic cars that made me want one:1 lotus elite in blue,2 scimitars one nice green one-sold to matt greenly and a not so nice red one-which was supposed to go to Ireland but it burned before it got there.
now that im 14 and I have proven to my parents that I can handle a project car (1997 alfa spider) they let me buy this scimitar and since it got here ive just done lots of little things:locks, sorting spare parts, changine both rear tires as I had bought a pair of wolfies, stripping the interior, finding parts....etc
Intend on maybe making it run tomorrow with a brand new battery!
anyway here it is!

after about half a bottle of t cut, what was left of the paint started to look good

Not sure I like all these youngsters around it makes me feel old!

But It is great that Scimitars are embedded in memory's still, like they are in mine and many on here (of course the se5a was less than 10 years old in my first memory's of it!)

Welcome Harry, the car looks a good project, any info/parts you need the club is a perfect place for it.
The people on the forum are brilliant, there are certain owners that seem to know everything there is to know about reliant ownership, young Josh Oakes is a fantastic and helpful lad, I think that you two will get on
All the best
