Mikey Bikeys attempt at sprinting - Car 1

Post by MikeyBikey » Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:42 am

The spin was, John Loch's fault. He told me if I touch the cones I have a 1/2 s penalty.

So was giving it some, not braking at all going into the final crossover, ever. But, this time in third gear, I just missed the turn in apex , saw those red buggers right infront, thought I'm not going to clip one, I'm going to take all three out. Thats going to be loadsa seconds penalty. So i turned left.

Regardless I never lift off, and nearly nearly saved it before finally spinning the opposite way

On that basis, Mikey always tries hard enough!

He does anyway - there’s a reason he was introduced as “Mad Mikey Bikey”..I’m sure that boy defies the laws of physics sometimes.

Did Perranporth drag race thing today. The car is poorly, nursed this morning it to a semblance of health then thrashed it till i broke the clutch.

Here me with the drop on a rather tidy RS Escort.

As James said MG ZR 16" with 114 / 100 pcd adaptors

To Be Fair, the clutch was the old plate I refitted to hopefully survive Curbs. It did, and a little bit more, so cant complain.

I do think the photo shows shows the shape of the se5 very well. I was , admittedly , getting pretty bored with it but this shows the side profile compared to the boxy but fashionable escort.

Just want more power. The Omega engine is just about ready to go in but I'd delayed until today. I wanted to do this run in the old setup then make the next drag day in dec the target for the scimega powered runs.

I'm not overly into drag days, it just happens to be 15 miles away and, actualy, there was a lot of decent kit there. New stuff isn't my scene, but an awful lot of effort has gone into a diverse mix of cars.

My final run was against an innocuous golf . Only turned out to be made of magic dust, recorded 9. 6 s and 142 mph (Track record :( ) No wonder no one else wanted to run against it .

Oh and the scimitar gots lots of airplay, close ups, photos...

I understand you want more power and I hope it works with the Omega set up but what you are doing is great as it gets the Scimitar out there for people to see - and that has to be good for the marque. More power to your elbow Mikey. :hurrah:

just found this

its the local drag and drift I do.

im all over it (sort of    )

6s in. 40, big grin at 48, sprint at 1.09 and briefly 3.50

fantastic.

the guy with the red Corvette is my garage bloke. I deliberately raced him but he's got a stonking v8 so i was always going to be second fiddle

until of course feb with the scimega
