Thanks Mark I didn't think there would be an issue but something my Dad said last night made me think. I usually coat threads as a matter of course unless there are reasons to not to.

It looks like all will go well with the rest of the install (fingers crossed  ) the only possible snag may be the air filter catching the scuttle belly under the vents.

Threads shouldn't be coated unless you have (or calculate) the wet torque figures (it's for the shank or exposed threads after it's torqued). I've switched to a non copper based anti-sieze compound as copaslip can introduce another metal to the mix!

Well carb is now on as well as inlet and reconection has started!! (After a number of trapped nerves inumy neck) so far the only issue I have is that the accelerator cable is too short!! So need to bet a new one so I need to find a match as it wont be standard!!

new cable fitted (from a Clio) other than this not much progress due to the C and the SST taking time

At last a little progress heated screen now fitted (thanks Windy!) next to connect it up (along with putting the rest of the car back together). On the topic of the screens I got timed relays with buttons from one of the local motor factors £7!!!!

Well she is booked in for an MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed! Frenzied finishing tonight mirrors bonnet fitted wipers and lights checked all but fog working can't open it as it's bonded in and I ran out of time. Lack of a fog won't fail on a 67 car will it?

I think if it's fitted it must work - cover it and the switch with black tape and it's been "disabled" so you shouldn't get a fail.
