It does, just need to get some nice wheels back on it instead of the old steelies!

I’ll probably paint the intercooler black and fit some kind of grille on there to protect it..
paint it black and stick on white number plate characters like the prisoner lotus 7 - two functions in one :)

I did it on my TVR race car and ended up removing them in a desperate attempt to solve a cooling issue... Surprisingly it didn’t make a bit of difference 😂

So the next issue was the massive hole where the footwell/bulkhead used to be on the passenger side..

I’d already cut the old one away to a point where I could
access the join when I glass the new section in. A bit of cardboard engineering and I came up with these..

E56CD37A-03FE-40FF-BCE7-B332A9B1CE2F.jpeg (421.13 KiB) Viewed 1076 times
And a new floor section..

Over matting the thin sections on both sides to form the basic shape left me with this..

08B0439C-A3B8-4FCC-BB00-A704A8FBD652.jpeg (344.46 KiB) Viewed 1076 times
Which I then joined to the body and luckily all the measurement were good and it fitted well to the existing body 8)

Now to match the other side, so I built the over lapping body work up ready to paint..

And then painted it...

I then added some heat reflective matting and moved to the drivers side..

LRP 335E Sprint Coupe

On to the other side then, where I need clearance for the 3” downpipe out of the turbo which basically points at my feet so I need space for a tight bend which will get me into the normal exhaust area. The plan was to take no more out of the footwell than the restriction caused by the footrest. So I came up with the idea to just drop a recess in there with a squared side which would create a footrest. So the hole was marked with the engine in and cut out.

So I just needed a shape like a fairly deep square sided tray  So those who can remember will know I’ve done this trick before.. One of Home Bargains finest roasting trays as there wasn’t a suitable one in the cupboard this time!!

So now to bond it into the hole...
A1CFC39C-5607-4FFE-94D7-5B0D5B62C64A.jpeg
A1CFC39C-5607-4FFE-94D7-5B0D5B62C64A.jpeg (385.95 KiB) Viewed 1069 times
Happy with that, so finished the matting off..

76E3969B-2EF9-4708-93FA-D0ACE25BB117.jpeg (282.73 KiB) Viewed 1069 times
And put the engine in to make sure the necessary clearance had been achieved on both sides.. which it had 8)

F08DD110-34E6-464D-945F-A16AE0B1AF68.jpeg (318.55 KiB) Viewed 1069 times
And we now have a passenger footwell.
64527321-26E4-4AA1-9643-FE7BDAB29B9B.jpeg
64527321-26E4-4AA1-9643-FE7BDAB29B9B.jpeg (313.46 KiB) Viewed 1069 times
And a footrest sized lump on the other side.

A4D8FB94-4D13-463B-933E-2CB48CEC2C89.jpeg (293.35 KiB) Viewed 1069 times
Engine and intercooler mounts to finish off now, then exhaust and the electrics/ecu..

Beautiful, good to see so much progress!

The (enlarged) battery tray on my GTC was a non-stick baking tray, too 8)

If you saw last weeks Top Gear, the Dallara car uses this same engine albeit mildly tweaked to 400hp
