Well the tyres eventually arrived at 1800 last night.

Out to the workshop, fitted and back home just after 2100 to watch walking dead on +1
car loaded and we pootled off to Curborough for the
pre-season test day this morning.
Weather was kind for a change (we have cancelled due to snow previously!) and I quickly scrubbed the tyres in. Unfortunately it was obvious that I now had a tyre/bodywork interface problem that will need a little rectification.

More importantly, the combination of new tyres and new diff was amazing! Full throttle launch off the line would barely spin the wheels - and Curbs is known for it's poor traction off the line. I found myself pushing faster and faster into corners and had it not been for the recurring fuel issue the times would have been better. After a mojo busting 2016 I came home raring to get G97 out this season
Initially I thought that the fuel problem was the twin carbs again and the faster cornering was making it worse but Craig suggested it was starvation (as opposed to the flooding that you normally get from twin 40s mounted fore/aft). That made a lot of sense as previously the finish line hairpin was the worst corner but now it was the start line long left hander - previously the tank was less than half full and today it was brimmed to the top.
So, list of jobs:
Tweak wings for wheel clearance
Fit new drivers seat
Fit passenger seat
Fit passenger harness
Sort fuel tank vents
MOT
Weigh
Rolling road
