I had a 1965 mk2 jag, completely restored with modern steering suspension and brakes and a tuned 3.4 straight six, pushing out about 220 bhp.
It had a powerlock and that was great. You could stamp on the accelerator and leave two long black lines, everywhere.....

And when you pulled out of a corner, say a T junction, you would still get two black lines but she would fishtail slightly to get into a straight line.....

Just brilliant

I may have been harsh above..... It's a pain in the wet when it's greasy and you want to set off and it starts to crab (yes not helped by the large rear tyres! It's also a mare when in a car park....
When you lit them up its fun!!!!

nice one Josh, good to get some car PR outside of the usual rags, and great news for the classic car scene that its not just old blokes with beards and a whiff of oil that are into classics, well done 8)

As JHR continues to used daily, a few more issues have cropped up. It still rides and handles a little oddly. I keep meaning to contact Richard Carter to see if he can set it up right.

Another issue is how it runs. The engine feels quite down on torque and doesn't run too well. Under acceleration, it coughs and splutters a bit and it almost feels like detonation. I've checked the timing repeatedly and it's fine. It's also running a little rich as you can smell it and it pops and crackles on over run. I also worked it out as doing 15 mpg across mixed driving.
I'm assuming the issue will be the carb but I can't quite think why something would be wrong with it as it's been great up until recently.
It's not too bad, it still had no trouble towing the rebel the other day :)

What fuel do you put in her?
Prob not the answer but all my cars run much cleaner and smoother on high octane.

Always V-Power. It runs much nicer on that than anything else

It's got an electric Facet one that's never been an issue although I will check the flow out. I don't think it's a pre carb fuel delivery problem as the hesitance is more down to load than throttle position. 4th O/D at 30mph and light throttle kills it.

I'm rather tempted to just buy a new DGMS but I've got to get the rebel finished and save up for a roadtrip
