Its Biaxial, not pretty but very strong and rigid ideal for structural use.

Have you any core in there or just cloth? How many layers?

Most of the floor is two layers of 853gsm, I put some foam ribs in the drivers side to add some stiffness and its solid, Desh watched me go at it with a lump hammer... zero damage.

Excellent progress. Like the integration of the headlight panel and bonnet. Will be a bit of a bugger to remove, but looks great!

I spy CF window frames 8)

Cheers yes they are CF and they will need trimming, I am just dabbling with different ideas, it was actually very difficult to do in place but I wanted to capture the curves so that it makes a good seal with the hardtop. The bonnet is going on pins so the horrid plastic wings nuts wont be needed.

This was the dry run before the first lamination, it likely wont work but I have a shed load of material so it was worth satisfying my curiosity.

if you are wondering why the frame is so far away from the edge of the window its because the cage is in the way.

Albeit not finished yet I was a little disappointed with the drivers side window frame but given that we have an imminent deadline im going to push on with it and laminate some foam in and add a few other bits but with the lessons learned from the first attempt I have started on the passenger door frame, I have decided to rivet the top corner of the board into place whilst each layup sets so that it takes the right profile, the door is latched and shut obviously.

That's the engine built for hopefully the last time in a while, done inside the house as the garage is full of all kinds of nasty dust I'd rather not end up in the engine.

I’ve dish washed car parts, washed stuff in the bath and oven baked engine blocks. Spray painted parts in the conservatory, but I don’t think I’ve ever used a engine stand on laminate floor...!! :D

Ive got away with some sh1t over the years with Claire, but building engines in the house would have seen me castrated!
