Just realised that I haven’t posted any pics of the new seats fitted (with new carpet too).

List of things to do post Le Mans

Fix horn
Realign front bumper
Flush mount bolts on rear bumper
Repair Webasto wooden frame
Look at electrical fault in rev counter (orange indicator light glows and rev counter backlight dims, intermittently when headlights are on)
Fix minor blow in RH exhaust under drivers seat
MOT

Sounds like a loose earth to me as both are earthed through a ring terminal onto one of the mounting studs - one is earthing through the other.

It is Mikey - and the MOT was due a few weeks ago, so I took it to France and back, happy that I had inspected everything and the only problem was a split steering rack gaiter which I temporarily repaired (although the horn stopped working on the way over!) but I think I will still get it MOTd later in the year.

Yep - it’s quite flaky under there, I can see some expensive work on the horizon :D

Exactly what I thought and should be a simple fix.

8 Ball

Post by scimjim » Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:38 pm

Forgot to update this but I took 8 ball to the NEC in January for the Autosport International event - I made a temporary repair on the Webasto (chiselled out a bit of the front beam and knocked up a wider steel locking plate) - it performed faultlessly (apart from an 8 track unravel incident!) and I had a great run there and back :D

8 Ball

Post by AntC » Thu Feb 07, 2019 8:31 am

Just caught up with this thread Jim and noticed that there didn't seem to be as many Scimitars at La Suze sur Sarthe as there were back in 2012 when I went there with Dave Clarke and his merry band of Lake District noggineers! I have a photo of SCV parked next to TMA911J in the line up photo which has turned out to be a bit of a coincidence :o I do envy you your workshop but at least my car is under cover.

Now Scimless - but no longer :D

Ant

Scimitars owned:
2018 - SE5 SCV 748 G
2001 - 13 SE4b - TMA 911 J
1971 - 76 SE5 CYB 435 J
