Afternoon All,
If any Club member has an “In progress” restoration and would like to display it at this show in March 2019, please can you get in touch?
I’m looking for preferably a 5 or 6 series car that is mid resto to show the public the work that goes into restoring our cars. :D
The car will need to be available from Thurs 21st March to Sunday 24th evening. Once the car is on the stand on the Thursday lunchtime then it has to remain there until around 5:30pm on the Sunday.
It would also be great if the owner could be available for all three show days to answer questions on the car by the public. Additionally, if you’re not local, you would also have to factor in staying over at a hotel etc.
If you would like to be considered, please PM me or email me directly (preferred!), details in Slice.
Thanks in advance
Kev O

Following on from what seemed to be a very quiet restoration show I thought I would put up some photos of our stand for those who were unable to visit.

Had a wonderful day on Saturday, cruising the massive array of trade and club stands. Crackin' banter with the RSSOC peeps on their impressive display and caught up with nephew Sam and his wife Kirsty on the Toyota stand demonstrating paint removal on his 63 Cilicia? Got some quality advice on abrasives, palm sanders etc. from the Jowett chaps. It's getting so large a show that we were pushed to see everything but the knowledge gained was worth it.

I follow all of grumpynorthener’s Jowett restoration threads (and other vehicles) on retro-rides - he organises the stand and was there all weekend.

I went on ''Official Business'' hoping for a cheap day and ended up with some new blasting equipment, airline, hose fittings, engine stand, and various other sundries :) Not so cheap after all

Called by on Saturday, congratulations to everyone who helped with the stand, looked great!
Caught up briefly with Kev too.
Was really shocked by the lack of punters? Come mid afternoon the stall holders outnumbered the visitors...very odd

I understand the cost of attending these events is now quite high..

Was there on Friday. I thought it was comfortably busy, but not over crowded. Only queued for the car park bus :D

I was there opposite the Jowett stand and their team was amazing.
Show was quieter than before but still many interested, interesting and knowledgeable people.
Saw Mike, Speedy and Dave Peek. Not sure the show would be sustainable in future if the traders don't get the footfall?
