Pics from 1980s Sabre Day.

Post by David Tew » Sat Mar 10, 2018 6:48 pm

I have found some photos from Don Pither's Sabre Days in the 1980s. Not sure of the actual year(s) but flairs are in evidence! Interesting to see one of Robin Rew's Rooster turbo conversions, are there any left?
Anyone spot their car, or even themselves?

Is that turbo in the Beaujolais car in the lineup - SJB55M?

Pete Stocks turbo is SJB66M :D

The blue car is ELV11L - still around (a sort of project thread here) and is KTO7P Roger Partons?

I think it is Pete's car. The blue car is ELV11l. The other two have allowed me to add photos to the register record. I don't think KTO7P is Roger's. Thanks.

Great photos, Dave, thanks for posting :D Yes, I'd agree that the Beaujolais 5a in the line-up and the engine bay shot, then fitted with only a single turbo and Reese-Fish carb, is Pete's SJB66M (now twin turbo of course :P ). Back then I think it was owned by Graham Balchin.

Hi All,
I think Roger Partons 5a is KTO 9P?
Great photos by the way!

Cheers

There was another KTOxP - sprinted by Allan Sakne in the late 90’s? Metallic blue?
