Think everyone had a very enjoyable time and thanks to all those involved. As ever the whole event seemingly went too quickly, not helped by me loosing out on much of Saturday afternoon arranging a pair of new tyres following an over enthusiastic and well fought auto test

Mikey shame to hear you dropped the trophy, well at least your other prize can be safely affixed to any surface!

I do wonder what goes on in the head of a Cornishman. Drives 5 hours in a sweaty noisy bright orange hooligan wagon, just to crawl underneath and invite others for a private chat.

From what i understand yourself and your son were a big part of the assistance at the weekend, so take a well deserved 'virtual' pat on the back, much appreciated by all I can assure you :hurrah: :hurrah:
Thanks Craig he loved gate duty as its got one of the best vantage points for the track and Mikey antics!!!
I will have to see if I can get him a trip around in a car next year!!

Bleddy awesome weekend. Thank you to all. The effort you organisers put in allows everyone a grand time. Probably the best sprint I've ever been to for camadarie banter, slick sprinting and turnaround etc.

Ps got in at 11.45 pm then dropped the trophy and broke it
Doh!!

I much enjoyed my first ScimFest and hope that there's another next year!

We camped over on the Saturday night, but would stay for longer next year, now that we know what to expect.

My wife was impressed by the toilets and shower facilities, so they must have been good!

I had read on line that some members at Curborough could be a bit snooty towards newcomers, but we found the opposite and found everyone very friendly and welcoming! 8)

Bought a few bits to fit to my car and found some inspiration whilst looking at other cars on show too!

Cheers,

Jez

Only had my car for a week and decided to go to Curborough for the Saturday ( could have been a risk but got full AA cover so what the hell ) couldn't make Sunday as had commitments.
Gave it a clean and 125miles later arrived in one peace :D , spent the next 6hrs chatting and showing my car to others, all seemed to show an interest even though its a bit rough on the outside, very friendly bunch , next thing I know its 16.00 and time to go , where did the time go, topped up with water from the hoses and left for home,
Next year will do the Auto Test and stay the night, :pint
Thanks to everyone for a nice welcome into the club

After almost 3 decades of Scimitar ownership and membership of the RSSOC, this Curborough was only my second time I've been in one of my Scims :?
I've attended Curbs for the last few years, but so much better to be in my own car 8)

I had a great weekend, and would also like to echo the comments here and thank the organizers who tirelessly work for many months to bring us this event, which goes by too quick; to the compies for some great entertainment on the track, and the traders who give up their time to be at this event. Was also good to catch up with friends again and have a good chat.

My GTC did the 250 mile round trip without any issues, and returned with a boot full of goodies to while away the winter months. Roll on next year :D

had a thought about reinvigorating interest -- how about staging some workshops say 1 or 2 hours max invite ideas with largest number of votes gets chosen subject to an sme being available and willing - it could consist of simple stuff thats ueful tips like hands on demo of how to check alternator output, changing a drive shaft seal, window sseals - just a thought

I recall an SS1 having its turbo replaced - no mean feat in a few hours

Great idea. I can show how to do an lpg conversion on a carb based Scim.

Owner of a fantastic se5a (nee 5 speed) that's a bit quick (well, feels like it is!!) and now running on lpg

Mike can show you how to take a running GTE the week before the event, do some 'improvements ' and break it, then miraculously pull it out the bag at the 11th hour and get away with it!

We love ya Mike 8) 8)

It was great to meet fellow-Cornishman Mikey yesterday :)

Mike, your route around Curborough might not always be the shortest, but the spectators loved it! Your pirouette at that bottom hairpin got a round of applause. Hopefully Roger managed to get some pics of the rest of the run with the tailgate open :D
