Buckie Classic Car Show 2017

Post by Will Anderson » Sun Apr 30, 2017 4:59 pm

Not helped by Forres holding its "Theme Day" on the same day, we still saw a respectable turn out of cars for the BCCS. And as a bonus the weather was much better than last year. However, I was the only Scimitar - MB14 did get some good compliments though, which was nice. Some images of the participants: -

And probably the rarest car of the day and one I don't remember seeing before.

Answers on a postcard, or a quick forum post before Roger gets it!

A 20,000 mile 24 year old Cavalier and a nice Calibra with a beige leather interior.

 Actually, I've already read your other post, where you rather gave the game away!
I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Strathcarron in the flesh, but I have seen a Javan R1 when it made it's debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. (and subsequently, when it was sold a couple of years later by Bonhams for about £13K). Both cars were made in tiny numbers, I think - you'll probably never see another?

 I suddenly realised that by posting the registration anyone checking AskMid would get the answer anyway - not that you need that help!

Yes, this is apparently no. 16 of 17 made. A pretty rare sight right enough!

The Javan looks superficially similar but if you start looking closeley they have made a huge number of modifications.
