Snow forecast ..

Post by MarkHawkins » Mon Jan 09, 2017 1:27 pm

Headline : Arctic snow set to blanket the UK!!
Sub headline : Arctic blast set to bring snow to most of Britain

The met office predicts that there will be snow showers in the UK during the middle of January. Now we have your attention, how about a nice holiday in the sun?

Cue BMW, Merc & Audi drivers in SE England sliding off roads everywhere and causing huge delays.

How I laughed a few years ago to see a Discovery driver bombing along a local road covered in snow. 10 Mins later and after I had picked up the Sunday papers, I passed him again. He was in the ditch.

Having 4 wheel drive doesn't stop you going off the road if you drive like an idiot.

True, many years ago I decided to see how good my LWB Landy was on snow, about 5 ins thick ,got to 50 mph before it decided to take a short cut through a hedge, and fence we came to an abrupt halt against a tree ,no damage to self :D a bit of damage to said Landy ,put it in reverse and went back up the track I'd just made  slowly home !

Plenty of them out there.

I will admit that a G wagon would be a good option but as for Quattros and X-Drive, not without a decent set of tyres and realistically, how many owners will change over from ultra wide low profiles to something more suitable? And I speak as a former Quattro owner that didn't.
