Beige SE6a - suggestions on how to jaz up the look?

Post by lambo911 » Wed Apr 22, 2020 11:05 am

Hi all,

My SE6a is a lovely shade of beige with beige interior and wolfrace rims.

At some point I will need to get the paint tidied up and I want to stick with beige as the base colour but I would welcome any suggestions on how I can lift the look.

I noticed one member on here has a beige car with a green stripe around its waistline which I quite like.

Anyone else with a beige car that has been pimped ??? I'm not looking for anything too outlandish :D

Cheers

Richard

I think Champagne came in late 78, It’s Ivory Beige on earlier cars (almost the same colour) :D

I think it might be mine you're thinking of...

It was Ivory Beige all over originally, and a previous owner had the green band added back in the day. I've never seen another one like it, until Dave Speed painted one for someone.

More pictures in my project thread in my signature.

Cheers,

Mike.

A Colour wheel would suggest a blue-purple would be the best contrasting colour to beige, but I like the green too!!

You could go two tone and fully paint the bottom half 👍

That maybe a better option, perhaps the lower half in chocolate brown, then I can respray the wheel wells in a dark colour too.

Beige SE6a - suggestions on how to jaz up the look?

A very simple approach is to add a contrasting thin vinyl coach line just below the line of the upper swage line/door handles on the sides. And polish the alloys.

The broad contrasting strips on the sides shown in the images above are very striking, it just depends how far you want to go.

I’m quite a fan of two tone cars and most cars have a two tone interiors unless they are completely black ,can’t see your interior but it could give a clue to what colour you might want to paint it👍
