Oh dear!.....Is it not possible to start with a galvanised chassis & keep the ID? :(

Going by the gearbox cross member being on the floor there is presumably no engine and box in it?

I'd imagine all the laminated steel work in the body would be rusted and blown.

That's the thing with GRP cars, at a glance they look the same whether they've been stood for 4 years or 40. If that was a steel body it would point since have been weighed in!

Wouldn't it be great to find a company further afield in Europe or China to fabricate properly new chassises's....

Following the demise of the old USSR and its puppet states a few companies in the area of military aircraft production dispersed the highly skilled workforce .Some of these individuals found a market for there fabrication and alloy panel craft in the expanding area of clone high end classic cars ,Cobra ,GTO , ect to the point of some of these cars now being seen on the grid of a well known race circuit [heaven forbid !] Richard .

I believe you can still get a new chassis for a 1950s Land Rover so there will be people here that can do such work and keep it in house so to say 👍
