Essex, I think? I believe that the Hedingham Car Centre was a Scimitar dealer in Essex, and "PU" is the registration code for Chelmsford, so that seems to tie up? :)

Telephone area code number 0787, which would very likely have become 01787 centres on Sudbury, Suffolk - north-east of Chelmsford

With the size of your collection, you've probably got plates from most Scimitar dealers!

Does anyone recognise Sittingbourne Service Station as a Reliant dealer in the 1970's. My car was in their hands when nearly new.

Dave Poole has old dealer lists I think?

The only dealer list I could lay my hands on at the moment is the one that Reliant sent me in July 1989 with the safety notice about front wishbone bracket failures. That does list The Hedingham Car Centre, 114 Swan Street, Sible Hedingham, CO9 3HP. So they were at least a dealer at that time, which would be the SS1 era. :)

[edit] I'm sure Sittingbourne Service Station rings a bell from the past, but I've no proof of that. Dave sounds a good bet :)

Incorporated 28 June 1951, they're listed as "Sale, maintenance and repair of motorcycles and related parts and accessories" at 88-100 West Street, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 1AS
