Oxford Oil filled Welders

Was given one of these oil cooled arc welders a while back. Finally dusted it off and started using it.

fantastic piece of kit. ok dated, but so well built. Just bleddy welds, properly with lots of hot molten stuff. no phaffing, overheating or whatever. Easily knocks my modern arc in a hat and the mig will just collect dust for now.

A case of “they don’t make them like they used to” - I recall one of the welders at work swore by his Oxford.

Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.

The guy who gave it to me welded ships for a living... so I’m presuming they are still floating

seen one of those when I was young(er) on the farm VERY useful bits of kit for welding 'agricultural' stuff, less useful if you have a pointy thing
