Ever one for mis-read words in the classic hair dressers name, "Curl up & dye" stylie; puns or rhymes like, the "Scimitar limiter" (my driving?) - points for Scimitar rhymes, it's not an easy one, or the "Sabre labour" (an arduous restoration?) Every time I look at this darned forum, where it says "Board index" at the top, I read "Bored index". I think of it as an index of how bored I am: why am I reading this when I have an incompleted project sitting in the garage? Okay, I've hardly touched said project for 2 - 3 months, due to numerous reasons. Yes it's December, the garage is cold (no heating, that's another thread), I'm sitting nice & toasty in front of my wood burner with a coffee and a generic tablet in my mitts and the tele in the background, but still the car is not going to build itself and not withstanding, I could be doing something else like on-line Christmas shopping, rather than looking at, or posting on Scimitarweb.

So what's hitting your Bored Index?

Or

What's hitting your pun index?

Answers on a postcard. No not really, that would just be inappropriate, when you could bore 'em on the forum...

So I get so excited I throw my self into something, meddle until I can meddle no more then get bored. I’m an out and out Adrenalin junkie, and the problem is, when the novelty starts to fade I move onto something else..... hence a surfboard I haven’t used, numerous top endmountain and road bikes, with cobwebs, and now a scimitar in one garage with its dashboard in another... and guilt setting in because I’m watching telly with my wife and it’s quite cosy.

And this bleddy iPad. Wish I’d never seen it. It’s easy to sit here and procrastinate, buy car bits and think it’s progress, when in reality I used to be in the garage most evenings with radio 2 going, spanner in hand, fixing things till they broke...

When "Strictly" comes on I start browsing "Vintage shots from years gone by!"
But even that gets a bit boring after the 50'th drag car picture.

And then, I try something on this Forum in the "fun caption quiz"
it goes on and on and on and.....

It's cold and dark by the time I get home, and I've long since stopped dabbling with cars of an evening.
So while the wife watches something on TV, I'm in the same room but surfing car forums, and searching daily the online ad websites for my very short-list of desirable cars.
All while I have a list of jobs to perform on the fleet parked outside, and usually only a few hours at the weekend to carry out the work.

Admittedly I seem to have zero enthusiasm for tinkering in what available time I have these days.

In response to the topic.
When revising eBay listings. After you hit submit revised listing you get a pop up with two choice buttons.

"Revise another" or "I'm finished now"

Clicking the latter amuses me far more than it should.

Reading through this last night very tired I misread the title of the marked section, told my partner what it was, still thinking it meant something silly, then realised a few minutes later what it meant. The old grey cells are a bit slow at the moment. I blame the run up to Christmas (and the eye-watering cost of a new SE5A radiator!)

That reminds me: years ago, yellow pages (remember those) had the listing:

Boring - see Civil Engineering

It was a mildly ammusing point for Mechanical Engineers to highlight to Civil Engineers...

Making space for the annual trinkets and baubles. Everything ends up being shoe-horned into the garage. Funny how Scimitar bits aren't allowed in the house but house bits fill the garage :?

Well I did say points for Scimitar, but that's inspired Corky. It can't fail to be anything but double points for the additional seasonal aspect!
